The very nature of abuse is the dominance of one over another. It's all about control.
Whether it be physical, sexual or mental in most cases the abuse can lead to a person's lack of growth both mentally and socially, leaving the victim with a loss of self Identity.
This piece was featured in the 2009 Manning award and will also be featured in this years BQFF ( Bendigo queer film festival ) exhibition to be held at the La Trobe Visual Arts Centre located at 121 View Street Bendigo.
The exhibition runs form March 31 - 25 April with the opening being held on April 9th at Dudly House Gallery, which is located beside The Bendigo Art gallery. For more information got to:
